Daedong Hospital (Director Park Kyung-hwan) gave support gifts to employees with examinee children ahead of the 2021 College Scholastic Ability Test.
In this event held again following last year, they delivered a gift set of traditional Korean candy called yeot for passing the exam and supportive messages to employees’ children who are examinees.
Director Park Kyung-hwan said, “In normal years, we would have gathered in the conference room to have a meeting with employees who have examinee children and encourage each other, but this year it is regrettable that we cannot be together due to COVID-19.”
Director Park added, “This year, facing COVID-19, I hope this will give some strength to employees who work hard for the hospital and patients during working hours and take care of their children at home.”
Additionally, Daedong Hospital advised that this year’s CSAT, held under the unprecedented situation of COVID-19, requires proper condition management through sufficient sleep.
They recommended getting at least 5 hours of deep sleep and going to bed before 2 to 3 a.m. at the latest, as lack of sleep can reduce memory and judgment.
For examinees who often consume a lot of coffee to reduce sleep, excessive caffeine intake can stimulate the central nervous system, disturb deep sleep, and cause dizziness or palpitations, so it should be avoided.
They also advised maintaining a balanced diet for proper nutrition and avoiding foods that are hard to digest such as flour-based foods, cold foods, and instant foods.
The day before the exam, it is recommended to maintain the usual daily rhythm and prepare necessary items such as the exam admission ticket, ID card, and mask in advance to avoid confusion on the day.
On the exam day, it is best to have a light breakfast, avoid greasy or spicy foods for lunch, and prepare meals similar to what is usually eaten.

Dr. Lee Hae-kyun, Family Medicine Specialist at Daedong Hospital, said, “This year’s CSAT will inevitably increase the burden on examinees due to the changed exam environment such as wearing masks and installing partitions because of the COVID-19 pandemic,” and added, “These are quarantine rules that must be followed for everyone’s safety, so examinees should stay calm. If COVID-19 suspected symptoms appear, do not hide them but seek help from the public health center or education office. Depending on the symptoms, measures will be taken to allow participation in the exam, so it is essential to report them.”
