Seoul Reports 155 New COVID-19 Cases Yesterday... 178 Linked to Gangseo-gu Dance Training Facility
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] As of midnight on the 1st, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that the number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in the Seoul area increased by 155 from the previous day, bringing the total cumulative confirmed cases to 8,966.
Among the new confirmed cases on this day, 10 were related to a dance training facility in Gangseo-gu, bringing the total number of Seoul residents classified as confirmed cases related to this facility to 178. There were 6 cases related to a hospital in Gangseo-gu (cumulative 27), 4 cases related to Sauna II in Seocho-gu (cumulative 72), and 3 cases related to a home shopping company in Mapo-gu (cumulative 13).
Additionally, there was one new confirmed case each related to an indoor sports facility II in Jungnang-gu (cumulative 25), Cheongryeonsa Temple in Dobong-gu (cumulative 24), Sauna in Seocho-gu (cumulative 70), and a sports facility in Nowon-gu (cumulative 14).
There were 80 cases involving contact with other confirmed patients, 6 cases involving contact with confirmed patients from other cities or provinces, 2 imported cases from overseas, and 38 patients whose infection routes are under investigation.
So far, 6,620 people in Seoul have been declared recovered and discharged, while 2,253 are currently undergoing isolation treatment. The number of people in self-quarantine due to entry from overseas or contact with confirmed patients is counted at 19,869.
