Choi Joon-sik (age 76) said, "As the cold winter approaches, I want to share even a small amount with neighbors in need," and expressed his wish to "help underprivileged neighbors live healthy lives in the clean environment of Gangjin."
Lee Seung-ok, the county governor who attended the donation ceremony, said, "Although this year's crop yield was not good, the warm heart of donating rice produced directly for underprivileged neighbors is beautiful," and added, "Despite the social atmosphere being greatly subdued due to the resurgence of COVID-19, with warm hearts thinking of neighbors, we will be able to overcome these difficult times well," expressing his gratitude.
Meanwhile, the donated rice will be delivered to underprivileged neighbors (elderly, children, single-parent families, etc.) and social welfare facilities in the area.
