Two Samsung Electronics Employees and Two Students Confirmed COVID-19 Positive in Gwangju
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] In Gwangju, a Samsung Electronics employee and elementary and middle school students tested positive for COVID-19.
According to Gwangju Metropolitan City on the 30th, four additional COVID-19 cases were confirmed, classified as cases 697 to 700 in the region.
Cases 697 and 698 are employees of Samsung Electronics Gwangju Plant and were confirmed to be related to a restaurant where recent consecutive infections have occurred.
Secondary infections are spreading from the restaurant visited by case 676.
Case 699 is a student at Unnam Middle School in Gwangsan-gu. Except for the first grade, which conducted remote classes, a full investigation is underway for about 400 students and staff.
Case 700 is also a student, identified as a third grader at Salesio Elementary School in Seo-gu.
Fifth and sixth graders are attending remote classes, so tests are being conducted at local screening clinics, and a full screening has begun at the school screening clinic focusing on third and fourth graders.

Cases 699 and 700 are reported to be related to a church visited by case 379 in Jeonnam.
