[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jonghwa] Eugene Group announced on the 30th that it held an untact charity bazaar called 'Good Auction.'
The Good Auction, held on Eugene Group's online newsletter 'Eugene Ever,' is an event where employees put up items for sale, and when the items are successfully auctioned, part or all of the winning bid amount is donated to the Community Chest of Korea.
For example, if an employee who wants to practice sharing puts up an item worth 100,000 KRW and it is successfully auctioned, at least 40% of the winning bid amount is donated. The donation is made in the name of the employee who provided the item to the Community Chest of Korea's 'Hope 2021 Sharing Campaign.'
This Good Auction featured a total of 65 items, including wireless earphones, bags, shoes, air fryers, and golf equipment. To encourage competition and increase donation amounts, gifts such as the latest wireless earphones and chicken gifticons were provided to the highest bidders, encouraging more employees to participate.
This year, the event received great responses from employees through a live broadcast on Eugene Group's YouTube channel 'Eugene Ever TV.' During the live auction held at lunchtime, about 1,000 employees connected and engaged in a heated competition of goodwill.
Kim Jihoon, assistant manager at Eugene Corporation who participated in the auction, said, "I was able to gain both fun and practicality by purchasing items I usually needed through the auction," adding, "Above all, I enjoy participating every year because it is an event that practices sharing and contributes to society by recycling resources."
