On the 27th, Tokyo announced that 570 new infections were confirmed that day. This is 31 more than the previous record of 539 set on the 21st.
The daily number of confirmed cases in Tokyo decreased to 186 on the 24th due to a reduction in COVID-19 tests during the three-day holiday (21st-23rd), but then increased again to 401 on the 25th and 481 on the 26th.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in Tokyo this month has reached 8,567, surpassing the record of 8,125 in August.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, Tokyo has decided to shorten the operating hours of restaurants selling alcohol and karaoke rooms to 10 PM starting from the 28th.
