People Power Party Fresh Lawmakers Start Relay Protest at Cheong Wa Dae: "Why Reject the Inquiry?"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] On the 27th, first-term lawmakers of the People Power Party began a relay one-person protest in front of the Blue House. They headed to the Blue House to deliver a written inquiry urging President Moon Jae-in to respond to the conflict between Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae and Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl, but when they were refused, they started the protest.
Kim Eun-hye, spokesperson for the People Power Party, announced that afternoon, "The Blue House ultimately rejected the letter sent to the President," and said they decided to start a relay one-person protest holding the inquiry letter.
Spokesperson Kim emphasized, "We request a responsible response and a meeting from President Moon Jae-in, who remains silent despite pushing the people and the country, already suffering from COVID-19, into ruin," adding, "The first-term lawmakers will not leave this place until our intentions are acknowledged."
Earlier, first-term lawmakers of the People Power Party issued a statement at the National Assembly that morning demanding President Moon's answers regarding ▲the reasons for dismissing the Prosecutor General ▲the economic feasibility manipulation issue of the Wolseong Unit 1 nuclear reactor ▲and allegations of the Blue House's interference in the Ulsan mayoral election.
