Online Kimchi-Making Experience Using 'Kimjang Kit' for 20 Elementary to High School Applicants... Kimjang Kit Composed of Korean Agricultural Products from Hongcheon-si, Gangwon-do, Sister City of Yangcheon-gu
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) will hold an online kimchi-making experience class using local agricultural products for 20 elementary, middle, and high school students on the 28th.
Due to the escalation of social distancing measures, the Yangcheon Innovation Education District's public-private-academic governance teacher division and the 'Ogamtoktok School Farm' division have collaborated to replace group rural experience activities with an online kimchi-making experience class using kimchi-making kits.
The kimchi-making kits, consisting of salted napa cabbage, seasoning, vegetables, and other ingredients produced in Hongcheon-si, Gangwon-do, which is twinned with Yangcheon-gu, will be delivered in advance to the homes of the students who applied for the experience.
Students who receive the kits will communicate online with the school farm instructor via the Zoom platform on the 28th and have a time to learn kimchi-making 'online'.
On the day of the event, teachers belonging to the public-private-academic governance and students will explain kimchi-making to their peers and have a time to make kimchi themselves. However, the on-site experience will be conducted with a minimum number of people due to the social distancing level being raised to level 2.
