Samsung Electronics Supports Korean Language Development in Vietnam with $700,000 Funding
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] Samsung Electronics Vietnam Corporation announced on the 24th that it will support approximately $700,000 (about 770 million KRW) over the next five years to promote the Korean language in Vietnam.
On the same day, Samsung Electronics Vietnam Corporation, together with the Korea Foundation (KF), awarded scholarships totaling $33,750 (about 37 million KRW) to 135 Korean language students from six universities in northern Vietnam, including Hanoi National University of Social Sciences and Humanities, at the PVI Building in Hanoi.
Over the next five years, scholarships totaling $337,500 (about 370 million KRW) will be provided to Korean language students at 12 universities in northern and central-southern Vietnam.
Additionally, $360,000 (about 400 million KRW) will be invested over the next three years to improve educational infrastructure such as TVs, projectors, and sound equipment in the language practice rooms of these universities' Korean language departments.

The Korea Foundation has been conducting projects in Vietnam for the past 25 years, including scholarship provision, academic symposiums, and visits to Korea by next-generation delegations.
