U+ Altteul Mobile Surpasses 600,000 Cumulative Subscribers
Introducing USIM Plans, Pickup, and Self-Activation Services
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] LG Uplus's MVNO service U+ Altteul Mobile has surpassed 600,000 cumulative subscribers.
MediaLog started its MVNO business in July 2014 and secured 600,000 subscribers just one year after surpassing 500,000 last year.
U+ Altteul Mobile focused on expanding products and services from the consumer perspective, mainly through online channels. It found opportunities by shifting from offline bundled products to online channels. By launching the online-only product 'USIM Plan,' it reduced distribution and marketing costs and introduced plans priced at about 50% of existing plans. They analyzed usage patterns and data to create products tailored to target customers.
Although sales are online, they also focused on improving purchase and subscription convenience. They expanded online and offline sales touchpoints through partnerships with GS25, Naver, Coupang, and others. They introduced services such as 'Baro Pickup Service,' where customers can pick up their orders at convenience stores after applying online, 'Same-day Delivery Service,' and 'Self-Activation Service,' which allows direct activation online.
