The Happiness Seed Adoption Project is an environmental improvement campaign that creates small gardens by planting flowers and plants in vacant lots that are either discarded or neglected. It transforms vulnerable living environment areas that cause residents to frown into beautiful flower beds, spreading happiness like dandelion seeds.
President Lim Kyung-sim said, “I am glad that through this project we could make Cheonggye clean and healthy,” and added, “We will continue various activities for landscape improvement, such as tending flower beds and cleaning in front of our homes.”
Seo Myung-ho, the head of the myeon office, said, “I sincerely thank the women’s association president and members who carried out the project despite the busy farming season,” and added, “We will do our best to spread the Happiness Seed Project throughout the entire myeon.”

Meanwhile, the Cheonggye-myeon Happiness Seed Adoption Project is being operated with the participation of the existing Bokryong 2-ri (Daegok) village council, Dorim 6-ri (Ipseok) village council, and the Saemaeul Women's Association. The golden arborvitae, winter pansies, and flowering cabbage planted this time provide emotional stability to residents weary from COVID-19.
