Gwangyang Okryong-myeon Youth Association Donates 30 Walking Assistive Devices
To Assist Elderly Residents with Mobility Difficulties in the Community
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang City announced that the Okryong-myeon Youth Association (President Lee Cheol) donated 30 walking aids on the 21st for low-income elderly residents with mobility difficulties in the area.
The Youth Association purchased 30 walking aids and donated them to the Okryong-myeon Office to support the happy steps of marginalized elderly people who are going through difficult times due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
The walking aids delivered that day are foldable for easy storage, serve as a means of mobility when the elderly go out, and can be used as chairs for shopping, walking, or resting, which is expected to be a great help to elderly people with mobility difficulties.
Lee Cheol, president of the Okryong-myeon Youth Association, said, “Seeing elderly people who usually have difficulty walking, I wanted to help even a little, so we decided to donate walking aids,” and added, “We will continue to practice neighborly love through various projects.”
Tak Young-hee, head of Okryong-myeon, said, “I sincerely thank the Okryong-myeon Youth Association for their help during this difficult time when everyone is struggling due to COVID-19,” and added, “I hope the walking aids delivered this time will bring vitality to the marginalized groups in need.”
