The three members who entered the sit-in protest at Lee's office include Lee Young-cheol, chairman of the Construction Workers' Union, and two other union executives. The Construction Workers' Union is also demanding meetings with representatives at the Democratic Party's metropolitan and provincial party offices nationwide, including Lee's office.
The Construction Workers' Union is demanding that the Democratic Party adopt the enactment of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act as its official party stance. The Serious Accidents Punishment Act is a bill that allows for the punishment of business owners, management officials, and companies in the event of serious accidents such as worker deaths. The labor sector has continuously called for the enactment of this law.

In a press release, the Construction Workers' Union stated, "Two construction workers face a predicted death every day. The existing laws cannot stop this procession of deaths," and added, "We will not stop the protest until the Democratic Party, holding a massive 180-seat majority, fulfills its fundamental duty."
