Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol Holds Meeting with Prosecutors on 'Trial-Centered Investigation Structure'
[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol will hold another meeting with frontline prosecutors.
According to the legal community on the 20th, Prosecutor General Yoon will hold a luncheon meeting on the 23rd at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office regarding the 'trial-centered investigation structure.' The main topic is the reform of the trial-centered investigation system, and it comes just a week after a meeting with prosecutors handling investigations related to the protection of socially vulnerable groups.
Prosecutors responsible for the investigation structure reform tasks from frontline prosecution offices are expected to attend this meeting.
The trial-centered investigation structure is one of the prosecution reform plans that Prosecutor General Yoon has emphasized so far. At the new prosecutor induction ceremony last August, Yoon pointed out the reform of the trial-centered investigation structure as one of the major changes in the criminal justice system and stated, "Investigation is the preparation process for prosecution and trial." He also emphasized the reform of the trial-centered investigation structure during his previous visits to the Daejeon High Prosecutors' Office and District Prosecutors' Office.
