Busan Science and Technology University and Busan Medical Industry Council, Training Chinese Language Experts in the Health and Medical Industry Sector
On the 20th, Busan Science University and the Busan Medical Industry Council signed an agreement to operate a customized academic program to train professional medical coordinators in Chinese.

Busan Institute of Science and Technology (President Kang Ki-seong) signed an agreement on the 20th with the Busan Medical Industry Council (CEO Kim Jin-soo) to operate a customized social curriculum.
This agreement aims to systematically train Chinese language experts focused on the demand side who can work in the Busan medical industry sector, based on mutual cooperation with the Department of Health Tourism Chinese (Department Head Kim Min-jung).
The two organizations will participate in the university’s LINC+ project, a leading social customized industry-academia cooperation program, to jointly design and develop curricula for frontline healthcare professionals, operate joint education, and provide demand-driven customized workforce training including employment-linked field training.
They have agreed to hire a total of four students who have completed the ‘Duty-Free Master Course,’ a social customized program of the Department of Health Tourism Chinese, and who excel in Chinese language and healthcare expertise.
The Busan Medical Industry Council is an organization composed of Busan city, local hospitals, medical associations, and medical tourism groups, linking Busan’s medical device and pharmaceutical industries with excellent medical personnel and medical tourism services to present a successful model for the medical tourism industry and develop a one-stop medical tourism system.

Professor Kim Min-jung (Department Head of Health Tourism Chinese) said, “Although somewhat slowed by COVID-19, the number of Chinese medical tourists visiting Busan has greatly increased over the past decade due to the rapid growth of the Chinese economy,” adding, “We plan to establish a multifaceted cooperation system to train medical tourism coordinators equipped with Chinese language skills and healthcare expertise.”
