‘K-Rospam’ Supports Our Korean Pork Farmers
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] ‘K-Rospam’ has rolled up its sleeves to raise awareness and boost consumption of domestic pork ‘Handon’.
In line with the launch of K-Rospam, Lotte Food announced that it will hold the event ‘K-Rospam Supports Our Handon Farmers’ with the Handon Self-Governing Committee from the 20th of this month until January 31 next year.
In this event, consumers can enter by purchasing K-Rospam, uploading a purchase verification photo on Instagram, and tagging the hashtags ‘#KRospam #HelpingHandonFarmers #PurchaseVerificationEvent’. For each verification photo, 1,000 KRW will be accumulated, and the collected funds will be used to deliver donation items to underprivileged groups.
Consumers who participate in the event will be entered into a draw to win various prizes for a total of 1,983 winners. Ten first-place winners will receive 5 don of golden pork, 100 second-place winners will receive a 1kg Handon gift set, and 100 third-place winners will receive 1kg of Uiseong garlic, among other generous prizes.
K-Rospam is a square canned ham made using 100% domestic pork. It is characterized by using our pork Handon, known as the national representative on the dining table, to coexist with Handon farms nationwide and to activate the consumption of high-quality domestic pork. With a pork content of 95.03%, it boasts the highest meat content among domestic canned hams, and it is aged at low temperature below 5 degrees Celsius for 24 hours to bring out deep flavor and a chewy texture.
Meanwhile, ‘Rospam’ is a square canned ham brand produced for the first time in Korea in June 1983 using purely domestic technology. Until then, canned ham in Korea was only produced in cylindrical can form, but starting with Rospam, square canned ham production began domestically. Even after 37 years since its launch, Rospam remains the leading brand in the domestic canned ham market.
