Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun and National Assembly Member Kim Seung-nam Request Budget Inclusion in Meeting
[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Kim Cheol-woo, the mayor of Boseong County and vice chairman of the South Coast Southern Central Region Council, attended a meeting with Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun on the 18th to discuss joint agenda items and explain local issues of Boseong County for the South Coast Southern Central Region Development Council's joint cooperation projects, the mayor announced on the 19th.
At the meeting, the council proposed △joint hosting of the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties in the South Coast Southern Central Region, △construction of an Indian Bridge for Yeongho-nam harmony, and △creation of a Yeongho-nam complex transfer park at the Seomjin River rest area.
Additionally, they explained and requested support for local projects in Boseong County, including shortening the construction period and fast-tracking the electrification project of the Gyeongjeon Line between Gwangju Songjeong, Boseong, and Suncheon, which involves a budget of 1.7 trillion won.
Furthermore, from the 19th to the 20th, Mayor Kim Cheol-woo plans to meet with local district lawmaker Kim Seung-nam and other members of the National Assembly responsible for budget matters to actively explain the feasibility of major and priority projects in Boseong County for 2021 and request inclusion in the government budget.
The 2021 national budget requests for Boseong County include △250 billion won for the establishment of a marine mudflat network and trail construction project, △20 billion won for the creation of a Boseong-type energy self-sufficient mountain natural healing tourism complex, △25.5 billion won for the Fisheries New Deal 300 project, and △20 billion won for the expansion of the Boseong sewage treatment plant.
