Endangered Large Swan Injured and Left Behind by Flock Rescued in Exhausted Condition
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju Cheol-in] A natural monument, a whooper swan that was injured and left behind by its group, was found and rescued on the beach in front of Namhae.
According to Namhae-gun, Gyeongnam Province, on the 19th, a resident reported that a whooper swan, Natural Monument No. 201-2, was crouched and lying on the mudflat near Seonso Village, Namhae-eup, on the 18th, and requested help from the Gyeongnam Hunters Participation Solidarity.
Members of the Namhae branch of the Gyeongnam Hunters Participation Solidarity, who have been leading efforts in hunting harmful wild animals and rescuing endangered wild animals such as natural monuments, immediately dispatched to the site and began rescuing the whooper swan.
The whooper swan was severely injured on its right leg and was exhausted due to being unable to feed for several days. The members who succeeded in capturing it immediately transported the whooper swan to the Gyeongsangnam-do Wildlife Rescue Center located in Jinju City.
The whooper swan is currently undergoing examination and treatment, but it is known that its life is not in danger.
