Honam University CHAMP, Special Lecture by Kim Young-su, Chairman of the Korean Samacheon Society
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Honam University Graduate School of Social Convergence recently invited Kim Young-soo, chairman of the Korea Sima Qian Society, and held a special lecture for about 50 students participating in the 5th session of the China Highest Executive Program (CHAMP), the school announced on the 19th.
In the special lecture titled "Sima Qian, a death heavier than Mount Tai, a death lighter than a feather," lecturer Kim Young-soo shed light on the life of Sima Qian, who voluntarily endured the humiliating punishment of castration, considered more disgraceful than death, to complete his historical records, and on the birth of the "Records of the Grand Historian (Shiji)".
The CHAMP program consists of offline lectures by Korean and Chinese scholars and experts, as well as study tours in China, and will continue until the 9th of next month.
The CHAMP program (China Advanced Management Program), jointly established by Honam University Graduate School of Social Convergence and the Confucius Institute, provides a systematic curriculum on Chinese history, culture, politics, economy, society, diplomacy, language, and more, to better understand China, which has emerged as a G2 power.

Additionally, all participants receive a certificate of completion from the president of Honam University and various benefits such as enrollment in the Confucius Institute's Chinese conversation course.
