[Asia Economy Reporter Jihwan Park] Bitcoin, the world's largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, continues its sharp rise in the domestic market.
According to the cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb on the 19th, as of 10:34 AM, Bitcoin was priced at 19,713,000 KRW, up 0.85% (167,000 KRW) compared to 24 hours earlier. Trading volume for the day reached 170 billion KRW.
Most other cryptocurrencies also showed upward trends. Ethereum (2.50%), Ripple (2.36%), Bitcoin Cash (1.79%), and EOS (2.14%) all increased.
However, Bitcoin prices in overseas markets have recently softened somewhat. According to cryptocurrency market data provider CoinMarketCap, at the same time, Bitcoin was down 0.25% compared to 24 hours earlier, trading at $17,712.62. Bitcoin surpassed $16,000 on the 16th, $17,000 on the 17th, and even broke through $18,000 on the 18th.

Other cryptocurrencies also experienced slight declines. Ethereum and Ripple fell by -1.25% and -4.33%, respectively. Litecoin (-1.01%) and Tether (-0.06%) also showed a somewhat weakened upward trend.
