Small Enterprise and Market Service, Forum to Explore Survival Strategies for Small Business Owners
On the 20th, Thematic Presentations Including 'Growth-Promising Industries Favorable to Small Business Owners'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] An online forum to help small business owners struggling due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) crisis will be held. Various measures to support small business owners will be proposed, and discussions on these will take place.
The Small Enterprise and Market Service will host an online policy forum titled "A Preview of the 2021?2024 Global Economy and Korean Economy Outlook and Seeking a New Paradigm" at 2 p.m. on the 20th (Friday) at the DMC Hall of the Korea Federation of SMEs in Mapo-gu, Seoul.
This policy forum will explore survival strategies for small business owners in an environment changing due to COVID-19 through expert presentations and discussions in four areas: △ COVID-19 and global economic outlook, △ Korean economic outlook, △ small business economy and industry outlook, and △ future promising growth industries for small business owners.
Attending the event will be Cho Bong-hwan, Chairman of the Small Enterprise and Market Service, along with △ Lee Dong-joo, member of the Democratic Party of Korea, △ Kim Kyung-man, member of the Democratic Party of Korea, △ In Tae-yeon, Secretary for Self-Employment, and △ Jo Joo-hyun, Director of Small Business Policy at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
The forum will be broadcast live through the official YouTube channel of the Small Enterprise and Market Service. Existing small business owners, prospective entrepreneurs, small business consultants, and other interested participants will be able to engage in real-time Q&A via comments.
During the presentation session, the topics will be divided into four categories: global economic outlook, Korean economic outlook, small business economy and industry outlook, and more.
Dr. Park Kyung-sik of the Future Strategy Policy Institute will present on "2021?2024 Global Economic Outlook," followed by Professor Noh Yong-hwan of Seoul Women’s University presenting on "2021?2024 Korean Economic Outlook." Dr. Lee Sung-ryong of IBK Economic Research Institute will discuss "2021?2024 Small Business Economy and Industry Outlook," and Dr. Lee Dong-joo of the Small and Medium Business Research Institute will present on "Growth-Promising Industries Favorable to Small Business Owners."
In the subsequent discussion, Dr. Kim Se-jong (Vice President of the Korea Management Technology Guidance Association) will serve as the moderator. Designated panelists participating in the discussion include Professor Lee Cheol-gyu (Konkuk University), Professor Park Joo-young (Soongsil University), Dr. Ko Joon-sung (Korea Institute for Industrial Economics & Trade), Professor Kim Hong-gi (Hannam University), Manager Lee Eun-cheong (Ministry of SMEs and Startups), and Executive Director Kim Kyung-sook (Small Enterprise and Market Service).
