"Ask Anything" SKT Hosts ‘AI Curriculum LIVE’
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Cho] SK Telecom announced that on the 19th, it will hold ‘SKT AI Curriculum Live’ online, allowing students currently taking the ‘SKT AI Curriculum’ at universities to directly communicate with current experts responsible for AI development at the company.
The AI curriculum, in which experts lecture on technical theories and business cases based on their field experience, started in 2017 and is now offered at 17 universities this year. It consists of 53 regular courses with about 2,000 students enrolled. SK Telecom stated, "the demand from universities is increasing so much that the number of universities wishing to introduce the AI curriculum has more than tripled compared to the previous year."
This event was specially prepared in response to requests from students, fueled by the rising popularity of the AI curriculum. It will be conducted through ▲real-time relay lectures, ▲an online tour of the ‘SKT Tech Gallery’, and ▲a Q&A session.
Considering students’ interests within the AI curriculum content, SKT selected a total of three ‘relay lecture’ topics.
Specifically, the topics introduced are ‘AI Ethics’, which presents ethical issues in AI and SK Telecom’s practical measures; ‘AI Service UI/UX’, covering the concept of voice UX and real-world work cases; and ‘AI Language Understanding Technology Development’, explaining the language understanding technology applied to NUGU’s knowledge-based question-and-answer system.
After the relay lectures, an online tour of the SKT Tech Gallery will be held, where participants can experience the latest technologies and services developed by SK Telecom.
The ‘Tech Gallery’, located at SK Telecom’s Pangyo headquarters, is a space exhibiting AI and 5G-related technologies used in key fields such as media and security. Through the online tour, students will be introduced to AI-based video quality enhancement technology, ‘AI-based automatic music transcription technology’ that listens to music and automatically creates sheet music, AI cameras, 5GX drones, and more.
The final session of the event is a real-time Q&A to resolve questions from AI curriculum students. Moderated by Professor Youngjun Won of Hanyang University, students can directly ask and listen to current experts to clear up questions accumulated while watching video lectures.
