WiniaAid Launches Rental and Subscription Services on KakaoTalk Channel
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Winia Aid announced on the 19th that it will launch a subscription service on the KakaoTalk channel, allowing users to apply for rentals, regular deliveries, and more.
The subscription service is part of the subscription economy, where users pay a fixed amount to regularly use products or services. It has recently gained attention as untact (contactless) consumption has increased due to the impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Winia Aid explained that it plans to sequentially expand its home appliance rental + care service business and customer-tailored subscription business by utilizing the Subscription Service Platform (SSP) provided to business partners on KakaoTalk.
The products offering rental + care services include Winia Dimchae’s ▲Dimchae Kimchi Refrigerator ▲Proud Refrigerator ▲Winia Air Conditioner ▲Dimchae Cook Low-Carb 50 IH Pressure Rice Cooker ▲Winia Air Purifier. Customers can receive free after-sales service (AS) for 5 to a maximum of 7 years depending on the product during the rental period, as well as benefits such as on-site cleaning service and consumable replacement.
Additionally, subscription products will include kimchi made by Dimchae Food using domestic agricultural products and quarantine masks.
Winia Aid’s strategy is to newly establish a digital business area and strengthen the rental business through this subscription service. To this end, it plans to fully focus on expanding KakaoTalk channel subscriptions by enhancing business advertising and social network service (SNS) channels using KakaoTalk.
Kim Jun, Head of Distribution Business Division at Winia Aid, said, "The rental and subscription service using the Kakao platform has the great advantage of being easy and simple to proceed from consultation application to contract," and promised, "We will provide customers with a differentiated experience by combining various Winia products with care services through nationwide service centers."
