Emart24 Introduces 'Heukimja Icheon Sal Corn' Following Icheon Sal Corn
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] As the weather gets colder, customers are increasingly seeking so-called ‘grandmother’s taste’ ice creams made with ingredients like glutinous corn, mugwort, and injeolmi.
Emart24 analyzed sales of seven types of grandmother’s taste ice creams, including glutinous corn, mugwort, and injeolmi, from October last year to September this year. The results showed that the fourth quarter of last year (36.1%) and the first quarter of this year (31.0%) accounted for 67.1% of total sales, indicating that sales increase as the weather gets colder.
In October this year, sales of these products increased by 66.3% compared to the average sales from July to September.
Reflecting this trend, Emart24 is launching the Heukimja Icheon Rice Cone. It is a follow-up to Emart24’s star product ‘Icheon Rice Cone,’ which recorded cumulative sales of 3 million units since its launch in May last year.
The Heukimja Icheon Rice Cone allows customers to enjoy the savory taste of black sesame (Heukimja) and the chewy texture of Icheon glutinous rice simultaneously. The bottom of the cone is finished with a milk-flavored sherbet to add a clean finish. The selling price is 1,600 won.
