Yeongdeungpo-gu Recruiting 100 College Students for Winter Vacation Part-Time Jobs

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yeongdeungpo-gu (District Mayor Chaehyun Il) is recruiting 100 participants for the '2021 Winter Vacation University Student Part-time Job' from the 23rd to December 4th, ahead of the winter vacation for university students in the area.
The district has operated a university student part-time job program utilizing the vacation period every year, providing valuable opportunities for local university students to earn tuition fees and gain experience in public service and social life.
The district has continuously expanded the number of part-time job positions by actively reflecting the demands and intentions of young people. This year, 90 positions were recruited for the summer vacation part-time jobs and 40 for students on leave of absence. Including this winter vacation recruitment, a total of 230 students have been given part-time job opportunities.
The total number of recruits is 100, and any university student (including those on leave) registered as a resident in Yeongdeungpo-gu as of the recruitment date (November 23) can apply. However, students from broadcasting and cyber universities, prospective graduates, and graduate students are excluded.
Among the recruits, 20 students who belong to socially disadvantaged groups such as ▲National Basic Livelihood Security recipients (self or children) ▲Low-income class (self or children) ▲Medical aid recipients (self) ▲Registered disabled persons (self) ▲Families with multiple children (3 or more) will be given priority selection.
Applications can be made through the integrated reservation category on the Yeongdeungpo-gu website from the 23rd of this month to December 4th.
Selected students will be assigned to the district office, community service centers, and affiliated institutions within the district during the working period, undertaking various tasks such as ▲administrative work assistance ▲field surveys ▲civil complaint guidance ▲COVID-19 related support work, allowing them to understand district administration and build employment capabilities.
Selected students will work approximately one month from January 11 to February 5 next year, five days a week from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., working five hours a day. Working hours and days may vary slightly depending on the circumstances of the assigned institution.
The wage is 49,600 KRW per day including lunch expenses, and if all working days are completed, the monthly wage including weekly holiday allowance is 1,190,400 KRW.
The district will select the final candidates through a public computerized lottery on December 8. Those wishing to observe the lottery can check the corresponding item when filling out the application form.
The selection results will be announced on the district office website on December 10, and selected students will be notified individually.
