Hampyeong-gun Provides Full Support for 'Eco-Friendly Agriculture Production Incentives'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-ik) announced on the 18th that it will fully support the 'Eco-friendly Agriculture Production Incentive' for local farms practicing eco-friendly agriculture.
The production incentive is a self-funded project supported annually by Hampyeong-gun to encourage eco-friendly agriculture and compensate for income reductions per farm.
Since 2008 until last year, the county has supported a total of over 22.8 billion KRW, and this year plans to invest a budget of 2.24 billion KRW to provide differentiated production incentives according to certified items.
Applicants must be local farms certified for eco-friendly agriculture, have their resident registration address in Hampyeong-gun, and actually reside there.
The applied local plots must also maintain eco-friendly certification until the end of this year.
The support amount is based on certified area per hectare: ▲ Fruit trees 2.3 million KRW (organic) · 1.5 million KRW (pesticide-free) ▲ Vegetables 2 million KRW (organic) · 1.3 million KRW (pesticide-free) ▲ Special crops 1.8 million KRW (organic) · 1.2 million KRW (pesticide-free) ▲ Food crops 1.3 million KRW (organic) · 700,000 KRW (pesticide-free) ▲ Rice 1.2 million KRW (organic) · 600,000 KRW (pesticide-free) ▲ Forest products 1 million KRW (organic) · 500,000 KRW (pesticide-free) ▲ Others 700,000 KRW (organic) · 400,000 KRW (pesticide-free).
Farmers wishing to receive the production incentive should apply by the 11th of next month to the jurisdictional town or township office with the eco-friendly certification attached.

A county official said, “In a situation where imported agricultural products are increasingly encroaching on the market, eco-friendly agriculture has become a necessity rather than a choice. We will continue to do our best to expand eco-friendly agriculture and manage the eco-friendly brand through production incentive support so that Hampyeong agricultural products are widely recognized as safe and healthy.”
