Honam University Exports 'Online Education Content' to Chinese Universities
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Honam University is making every effort to utilize non-face-to-face online platforms to find a way out of international exchanges, which have been locked down due to COVID-19.
On the 17th, Honam University announced that it is normally operating the Sino-foreign joint university operation program by producing and exporting online content to Chinese universities.
The International Exchange Office of Honam University has been exporting curricula through dispatching faculty members according to the Sino-foreign joint program between Honam University's Department of Hotel Management and China’s Qilu University of Technology's Department of Hotel Management since 2016.
However, this year, when exchanges became difficult due to COVID-19, they exported educational content for nine subjects including Hotel Management Theory, Hotel Marketing, Understanding the MICE Industry, and Hotel Management Practice in a non-face-to-face manner using educational resources from doctoral students in the first and second semesters.
The Sino-foreign joint program of the Department of Hotel Management is jointly operated by both universities in terms of student recruitment, talent cultivation, and the overall curriculum. Honam University is responsible for one-third of the entire curriculum, and students must complete this process over three years before they can proceed with their study abroad program in Korea.
Students who took the online classes provided by Honam University said, “The educational content was not only theoretical but also rich and interesting as it reflected case analyses and new industry trends, resulting in a high level of understanding and satisfaction with the classes.”
