In April, Mokpo Maritime Police received intelligence that foreign seamen were collectively using and distributing drugs at entertainment establishments catering to foreigners. An investigation was launched, and last month, a foreigner identified as Mr. A (28 years old) was urgently arrested at the establishment for smoking synthetic marijuana, accelerating the investigation.
All synthetic marijuana was seized at the entertainment venue, and on the 11th, three individuals?including employees who sold drugs and users?were detained, while five others were sent to the Mokpo District Prosecutor's Office with recommendations for non-custodial prosecution.

At the commendation ceremony, Chief Jung Young-jin stated, “The officers have made significant contributions to maintaining public safety in the community through consistent prevention and investigation activities targeting drug offenses,” and urged them to “continue to do their best in their assigned duties.”
