Governor Lee Ju-yeol of BOK to Attend 'EMEAP Governors' Meeting' on 16th
Second Meeting Following the First Session in August
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The Bank of Korea announced on the 16th that Governor Lee Ju-yeol attended the '25th East Asia and Pacific Central Banks (EMEAP) Governors' Meeting' held via video conference.
EMEAP is a consultative body of central banks established in 1991 to promote cooperation and information exchange among central banks in the East Asia and Pacific region. Eleven central banks from Korea, China, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand participate as members.
This governors' meeting was held online due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). It is the second meeting following the first part held in August.

At this EMEAP governors' meeting, Governor Lee shared opinions with governors of member central banks in the Asia-Pacific region on economic outlook, the long-term impact of COVID-19, and the digitalization of central banks.
