Jeongeup-si Selects 50 Diligent Local Taxpayers
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 16th that it has selected 50 taxpayers (5 meritorious, 45 exemplary) who faithfully paid local taxes as diligent taxpayers.
The selection of diligent taxpayers was divided into exemplary taxpayers and meritorious taxpayers to commend those who contributed to creating a sound tax payment culture where citizens who faithfully pay local taxes are favored and to secure independent financial resources.
Exemplary taxpayers were selected by randomly drawing 45 taxpayers who fully paid three or more local tax cases within the deadline each year for the past five years through the local tax information system selection program.
Separately, among those who met the qualifications for exemplary taxpayers and paid more than 3 million KRW annually (more than 10 million KRW for corporations), five meritorious taxpayers (3 individuals, 2 corporations) were selected through the screening of the Jeongeup City Local Tax Deliberation Committee.
Selected exemplary and meritorious taxpayers will receive a diligent taxpayer certificate and a certain amount of gift certificates according to the 'Jeongeup City Diligent Taxpayer Preference and Support Ordinance' enacted last year.
Meritorious taxpayers will be awarded a commendation at the end of the year in recognition of their contribution to expanding local finances.
For corporations, an additional benefit of exemption from local tax-related audits for three years will be provided.
