Armani Exchange Launches Eco-Friendly Collection
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Armani Exchange, a casual brand imported and sold by Shinsegae International, announced on the 16th that it will launch an eco-friendly collection made from recycled and organic fabrics and start related promotions.
This collection features 11 types of men's and women's casual wear, including denim jackets and jeans made from recycled cotton, padding made from recycled polyester extracted from discarded PET bottles, and training pants made from organic cotton.
The men's main product, the "All-Over Graphic Two-Way Padding," tailored to this winter's short padding trend, highlights Armani Exchange's distinctive brightness and activity. Instead of the dark and dull feel typical of winter padding, it uses a bright orange color and adds sophisticated graphics throughout the product as a point. The outer fabric, lining, and filling of the product are all made from recycled polyester extracted from discarded PET bottles.
The women's products showcase denim made from recycled or organic cotton in various styles. Among them, the "Logo Sleeve Denim Jacket" is a short-length product with large logo lettering on the sleeves. It creates a casual atmosphere with vintage washing, studs, and embroidery decorations and is made from 100% recycled cotton.
All products in the Armani Exchange eco-friendly collection come with a green label. The label explains the brand's efforts for eco-friendliness, such as recycling and organic materials, for each product. As part of sustainability efforts, leftover fabrics from garment production were donated to Starbucks to be used as covers for the "2021 Starbucks Planner." Each planner cover is made using different fabric scraps, resulting in various cover designs.
To celebrate the launch of the eco-friendly collection, all products in the collection will be sold at a 30% discount until the 30th of this month, and customers who purchase eco-friendly products will receive a Starbucks beverage exchange coupon. All customers who visit stores and join the Shinsegae International membership will be given special limited-edition diary decorating stickers with an environmental theme on a first-come, first-served basis.
A representative of Shinsegae International Armani Exchange said, "We introduced eco-friendly products for the first time in the spring season this year, and the response was better than expected, so we increased the number of styles and introduced them domestically this season," adding, "We plan to carry out various marketing activities so that eco-friendly fashion can become a sustainable phenomenon rather than a simple one-time trend."
