Japanese Actor Kubodera Akira Found Dead... Growing Social Concern Over Consecutive Deaths of Actors
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Eun-young] Japanese actor Kubodera Akira, who appeared in Sailor Moon and Kamen Rider, has passed away.
According to foreign media on the 14th, Kubodera Akira died on the 13th at his home in Tokyo.
His agency Hirata Office stated on their official website, "Yesterday, November 13, actor Kubodera Akira passed away at the age of 43. The suddenness of this event has left his family and staff struggling to accept the reality."
They added, "We are currently investigating the detailed circumstances," and requested, "Please refrain from reporting out of consideration for the family's grief."
Kubodera Akira debuted as a stage actor in 1999 and played the villain 'Kunchaito' in the 2003 live-action Sailor Moon drama.
He later appeared in Kamen Rider Kiva and Kamen Rider OOO, gaining recognition, and was scheduled to appear in a play starting on the 26th, which adds to the sadness of his passing.
Meanwhile, in recent times, the Japanese entertainment industry has seen growing social concern as famous actors such as Miura Haruma, Ashina Sei, and Takeuchi Yuko have died by suicide.
