Hannam University Wins 'Grand Prize' at Daejeon Tourism Idea Contest

View original image[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Hannam University announced on the 13th that students from the Department of Convention Hotel Management participated in the ‘2020 University Student Daejeon Tourism Idea Contest’ hosted by Daejeon City and won the grand prize in the tourism policy category.
The team of current students from the Department of Convention Hotel Management, including Lee Seo-yeon and Byun Ah-young (3rd year), and Kim Yeon-je and Lee Chae-yeon (2nd year), proposed the ‘Development of the Daejeon Hanbat Media Art Festival’ and won the grand prize. The proposal focused on applying media art to Expo Science Park and the Daejeon Culture and Arts Complex.
The city selected the winning entries after a comprehensive evaluation of the submitted ideas based on creativity, feasibility, and sustainability through document screening and presentations.
The team that submitted the grand prize-winning work was awarded a prize of 2 million won.

Byun Ah-young said, “We proposed a tourism revitalization festival plan that provides tourists with experiences and activities they have not had in Daejeon, in line with recent tourism trends that people enjoy and experience themselves,” adding, “It was a meaningful experience to participate in planning a new cultural and arts festival in Daejeon.”
