Japan Surpasses 1,600 New COVID-19 Cases in a Day... Record High
[Asia Economy Reporter Joselgina] Japan recorded the largest daily number of new confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
According to the Nihon Keizai Shimbun on the 12th, the number of new daily confirmed cases as of 6:30 PM was 1,608. This surpasses the previous record of 1,591 cases on August 7. By region, Tokyo reported 393 cases, Hokkaido 236 cases, Kanagawa Prefecture 147 cases, and Hyogo Prefecture 81 cases, each setting a new regional record. Osaka had 231 cases, and Aichi Prefecture had 143 cases.
