Ethiopia Tigray Travel Alert Raised to 'Evacuation Recommended'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on the 12th that it will raise the travel advisory for the entire Tigray region of Ethiopia to Level 3 (recommendation to evacuate).
This adjustment is a measure taken in consideration of the increasing safety concerns for our citizens, following reports of numerous casualties due to armed clashes between the Ethiopian federal army and the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) in the region.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged, "We ask our citizens planning to travel to the Tigray region of Ethiopia to cancel or postpone their trips, and those currently staying in the area to evacuate unless it is for urgent matters."
