Emblem Replacement Followed by Company Name Change "Under Multilateral Review"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] Kia Motors is considering removing "Motors" from its company name and changing it to "Kia." This reflects the company's intention to strengthen its identity as a mobility service provider beyond just an automobile manufacturer.
According to industry sources on the 12th, Kia is discussing plans to simplify its company name to "Kia." A Kia representative stated, "We are reviewing the name change from various angles."
Currently, Kia is also planning to change its emblem. The new emblem will be applied to vehicles released starting next year. Earlier, former Kia CEO Park Han-woo expressed his intention to promote brand innovation, including emblem replacement, so that customers can resonate with the changes. The name change appears to be part of this ongoing effort.
