Joeunhee "Worried about Sejong City housing prices soaring due to Lee Nak-yeon's bombshell remarks... Feels like watching Park Won-soon"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Young-eun] On the 11th, Cho Eun-hee, Mayor of Seocho District, commented on Lee Nak-yeon, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, announcing the establishment of a Sejong branch of the National Medical Center, saying, "I am worried about how much the housing prices in Sejong City will skyrocket again due to Lee's bombshell remark."
On the same day, Mayor Cho wrote on her Facebook, "It seems that Lee Nak-yeon, leader of the Democratic Party, is quite anxious these days. He is recklessly making irresponsible remarks that only increase confusion, such as boldly declaring the installation of the National Medical Center, which has been planned to move to Wonji-dong, Seocho-gu for 17 years, in Sejong City, Chungcheong Province."
She added, "It feels like watching the late Park Won-soon, former Mayor of Seoul," and explained, "Seoul City announced last year that the National Medical Center would be relocated to Wonji-dong, but in April, former Mayor Park suddenly proposed to the government to move it to the Jung-gu Gongbyeongdan site instead of Wonji-dong, and in July, he even announced an escalation of the relocation to the Gongbyeongdan site. This was a unilateral reversal of promises without any consultation with the residents."
She continued, "Why do both former Mayor Park, who dreamed of the presidency, and Lee Nak-yeon, who is currently aspiring to the presidency, take such reckless steps regarding the relocation and reconstruction of the National Medical Center? What are they afraid of, who are they conscious of, and why do they flip-flop their words?" She criticized, "I believe that someone who dreams of becoming president should have leadership and determination to solve problems, but Lee these days continues to make statements that increase confusion rather than resolve issues."
Mayor Cho said, "Lee has become very strange. Until recently, as Prime Minister overseeing state affairs, his strict and disciplined demeanor was evident," adding, "But now, being pressured by the Blue House and blinded by the Chungcheong votes, he seems only to be calculating votes. It is regrettable. It feels like he has become a man with two faces."
