992 Candidates Expected to Pass the 2nd Architect Qualification Exam... 43.7% in Their 30s
Announcement of Final Successful Candidates on December 30 After Document Screening
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] In the second 2020 Architect Qualification Examination held on September 26, 992 candidates were listed as expected passers. The final successful candidates will be announced on the 30th of next month.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced the list of expected passers of the Architect Qualification Examination on the 12th through the websites of the Ministry and the Korea Institute of Registered Architects.
This exam had 7,009 applicants, 59 fewer than the first exam (7,068). The number of expected passers who passed all three subjects was 992, with a pass rate of 14.2%. This is 4.3 percentage points (314 people) lower than the first exam's pass rate of 18.5% (1,306 people).
Regarding the pass rates by subject, the first session, Site Planning, increased from 22.0% (1,381 people) to 24.2% (1,476 people).
On the other hand, the second session, Architectural Design 1, dropped from 28.8% (1,243 people) to 12.2% (523 people), and the third session, Architectural Design 2, decreased from 31.7% (1,650 people) to 8.9% (426 people).
The age group of expected passers was mostly in their 30s with 433 people (43.7%) and 40s with 416 people (41.9%). Female passers accounted for 29.7% (295 people) of the total expected passers, similar to the previous exam (30.2%, 394 people).
The final successful candidates will be publicly announced on the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Korea Institute of Registered Architects websites on the 30th of next month after document screening including career verification. Scores by subject can be viewed until the 27th of this month.
Starting this year, objections to exam questions are accepted immediately after the exam and reflected in grading, so separate appeals for exam scores will not be accepted.

Expected passers must submit related documents such as career certificates to the Korea Institute of Registered Architects from the 18th to the 20th.
