'50+ Campus' to Open Near Ttukseom Yuwon Station
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] A '50+ Campus' and a public parking lot will be established near Ttukseom Yuwon Station on Seoul Subway Line 7.
On the 11th, Seoul City held the 16th Urban and Architectural Joint Committee and announced on the 12th that it had amended and approved the designation of the district unit plan area and the plan for the area around 57-153 Jayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu.
The target site was designated as an urban planning facility (school). It is located near Ttukseom Yuwon Station on Subway Line 7, adjacent to Yeongdong Bridge and Gangbyeonbuk-ro, with Ttukseom Hangang Park and Sinyang Middle School nearby.
The city explained, "Since the site was a long-term unexecuted facility (school) and the establishment plan was canceled by the Office of Education, there was no urban planning management plan after the facility was released. Therefore, the district unit plan was promoted to build the 50+ Campus and improve residential conditions."
At this location, a '50+ Campus' will be built to strengthen local welfare functions such as support for middle-aged and senior citizens, and a public parking lot will be created to provide facilities needed by residents. A 3-meter-wide public pedestrian passage is also planned to improve accessibility to the 50+ Campus and secure a safe school route for nearby schools.
A Seoul city official said, "With this district unit plan decision, it is expected that the resolution of unexecuted facilities and improvement of the residential environment will solve the residents' long-standing wishes."
