Guro-gu Makes Willow Herb Tea from Invasive Kudzu Vine in Anyangcheon and Delivers to Welfare Facilities
Produced 200 Bottles... Effective for Blood Circulation, Digestion, and Detoxification
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) made Yulcho tea from invasive kudzu vine grown in Anyangcheon and delivered it to neighbors in need.
To produce Yulcho tea, Guro-gu harvested young shoots of the kudzu vine in the Anyangcheon growth management section for three months starting in July. After undergoing residual pesticide and heavy metal tests, 200 bottles of Yulcho tea (each containing 20 tea bags) were produced.
Yulcho tea made from kudzu vine has a sweet and bitter taste, is cool in nature, and is non-toxic, making it safe to consume. It is known to lower blood pressure, strengthen the lungs, and be effective for blood circulation, digestion, diuresis, and detoxification.
The finished Yulcho tea was delivered to welfare facilities for the elderly and neighbors in need within the district.
Meanwhile, in October, Guro-gu also delivered 100kg of rice and 300 heads of napa cabbage harvested from the natural learning center near Ogumgyo Bridge in Anyangcheon to welfare facilities such as the district-run sheltered workshop for the disabled.
