[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] IBK Industrial Bank announced on the 9th that it will newly hire 170 entry-level employees in the second half of 2020.
Applications will be accepted through the Industrial Bank's website until the 23rd of this month. Afterward, candidates will go through document screening, written tests, practical tests, and interviews, with the final successful candidates announced early next year.
The recruitment fields include Financial Sales (95 positions), Digital (25 positions), Financial Specialists (15 positions), Global (15 positions), and High School Graduate Talent (20 positions), totaling five fields. An Industrial Bank official stated, "We have resumed hiring high school graduate talent after three years to expand opportunities for them," and added, "The newly established 'Financial Specialists' and 'Global' fields, which further subdivide recruitment areas, are also a feature of this hiring."
The newly established 'Financial Specialists' field covers roles such as IB, asset management, risk management, and financial accounting, while the 'Global' field involves duties related to overseas business.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, Industrial Bank is conducting recruitment announcements and promotions online. The public recruitment guide video for new employees will be posted on the Industrial Bank website on the 12th. Upon completion of the second half recruitment, the total number of hires for this year will be 412 (242 in the first half, 170 in the second half), maintaining last year's level.
Industrial Bank is also conducting separate recruitment for persons with disabilities and national veterans. Applications are being accepted until the 16th of this month, with a final selection of 35 persons with disabilities and 45 veterans. Along with job security, flexible working arrangements allow for treatment, rehabilitation, and work-family balance.
Industrial Bank expects to achieve a 3.4% mandatory employment rate for persons with disabilities through this recruitment. The bank stated that this reflects the will of President Yoon Jong-won, who has consistently emphasized consideration for socially vulnerable groups since his inauguration.
There are also plans to recruit winter youth interns. The number of hires is 250, with recruitment announcements expected to be posted this month, and the work period lasting about seven weeks from January 2021.
An Industrial Bank official said, "We will separately select 'digital interns' to be assigned to digital-related departments and provide a competency enhancement project that allows interns to understand the corporate ecosystem beyond simple tasks during their internship," adding, "We will further refine the youth internship program to nurture talent suited to the rapidly changing financial industry."
