Assemblyman Lee Byung-hoon Secures 754 Million Won in Special Grants for Education Improvement
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Lee Byung-hoon, a member of the National Assembly (Democratic Party of Korea·Gwangju Dong-gu Nam-gu Eul), announced on the 8th that he secured a special grant of 754 million KRW from the Ministry of Education to improve the educational environment in Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City.
The special grant from the Ministry of Education this time is a budget for repairing the exterior walls and replacing windows at Yongsan Elementary School.
Yongsan Elementary School has been facing difficulties in students' studies and safety due to the aging school building, making budget support urgent.
Assemblyman Lee persuaded the Ministry of Education of the justification and necessity of government support, and as a result, the educational environment improvement project became possible.
Assemblyman Lee Byung-hoon stated, “The educational environment is connected to the quality of education, and the quality of education enhances the competitiveness of the region,” adding, “We will continuously promote improvements in the educational environment so that our children can receive education in better conditions.”

He continued, “After reviewing the special grants from the Ministry of Education over the past three years, only five cases amounting to 2.6 billion KRW were allocated to Dong-gu,” and said, “To improve the educational environment, we will cooperate with schools, education support offices, and actively discover the demand for special grants within the region to do our best in securing the budget.”
