Seoul-bound Geoncheon Rest Area Selected as 'ex-Food' by Daegu-Gyeongbuk Headquarters of Korea Expressway Corporation
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] The Geoncheon Rest Area on the Seoul-bound side of the Gyeongbu Expressway announced on the 7th that it participated in the '2020 Practical ex Food' competition hosted by the Korea Expressway Corporation Daegu-Gyeongbuk Headquarters and won an excellence award.
The 'ex Food' of the Seoul-bound Geoncheon Rest Area is the 'Chadol Mushroom Doenjang Jjigae' introduced last June. The selection criteria for Practical EX-FOOD require the price to be under 5,500 KRW and to use local specialty products.
The Korea Expressway Corporation Daegu-Gyeongbuk Headquarters held a contest for foods that rest area customers can enjoy, and the Geoncheon Rest Area (Seoul-bound) submitted 'Chadol Mushroom Doenjang Jjigae,' a popular doenjang stew enhanced with mushrooms, a local specialty of Geoncheon-eup, at an affordable price of 4,900 KRW, and was selected as a 'Practical ex Food.'
