Imsil-gun to Construct Sports and Culture Center in Gwancheon-myeon... Groundbreaking Scheduled for the End of This Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, is creating a living culture and sports space responsible for the happiness of residents in Gwancheon-myeon.
Imsil-gun announced on the 6th that it will start construction at the end of this month for the Gwancheon Sports and Culture Center construction project, which comprehensively provides sports and cultural services to residents in Gwancheon-myeon.
The Gwancheon Sports and Culture Center will be built on the site of the former Gwancheon Old Market, a long-unused land located at 518-4, Gwancheon-ri, Gwancheon-myeon, with a total project cost of 7.1 billion KRW, including 4.3 billion KRW in national funding.
The site area is 3,112㎡, with a total floor area of 2,414.55㎡, consisting of one basement floor and two above-ground floors.
The center will include a multipurpose gymnasium, a book cafe, a fitness center, club rooms, and multipurpose rooms.
The Gwancheon Sports and Culture Center construction project proceeded with the selection of an architectural design firm through a design competition and advanced the design accordingly.
During the design phase, opinions were collected through resident meetings to plan the center for convenient use by the residents.
The project will officially begin construction at the end of this month and is scheduled to be completed by next year, allowing local residents to use the facility starting in 2022.

County Governor Shim Min said, “By securing national funding, we were able to build the Gwancheon Sports and Culture Center for residents in the idle land area of Gwancheon-myeon,” adding, “It will play a significant role in increasing convenience and improving the quality of life for residents living in Gwancheon-myeon as a sports and cultural space.”
