[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Sampyo Industry made and delivered kimchi to help local underprivileged groups endure the winter.
Sampyo Industry Yangju Branch announced on the 6th that it participated in the 'Sharing Happiness Kimchi Making' event with local residents at the parking lot of Eunhyeon-myeon Administrative Welfare Center in Yangju-si, Gyeonggi Province. On that day, 300 heads of kimchi made together with about 20 local residents were delivered to about 50 vulnerable people in the district, including elderly living alone. A separate donation of 1 million won was also made.
A Sampyo Industry official said, "Although it is a small gesture, we hope it will help our neighbors in need have a warm winter," adding, "We will continue to coexist with local residents and fulfill our social responsibilities as a company."

Meanwhile, Sampyo Industry has been consistently providing scholarships to outstanding middle and high school and university students in the Yangju area through the group's scholarship foundation, the Jeong In-wook Academic Scholarship Foundation. Since 2008, for 13 years, it has supported about 400 scholarship recipients with a total of approximately 380 million won in scholarships.
