NSSC Publishes Draft Review and Inspection Report for Shin Hanul Unit 1 Operating License

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] The Nuclear Safety and Security Commission (NSSC) and the Korea Institute of Nuclear Safety (KINS) announced on the 5th that they have released a draft review and inspection report on the operating license application for Shin Hanul Unit 1, submitted by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) in December 2014.
The draft review and inspection report can be accessed at the Nuclear Safety Information Disclosure Center.
This review and inspection report comprehensively summarizes the results of approximately six years of review and inspection conducted by KINS on seven types of application documents submitted by KHNP for the operating license of Shin Hanul Unit 1, as well as the safety and performance of the reactor and related facilities. It has completed preliminary review by the Nuclear Safety Expert Committee.

Based on the review and inspection results from KINS and the preliminary review by the Nuclear Safety Expert Committee, the NSSC stated that it will decide on the operating license for Shin Hanul Unit 1 through a full commission meeting in the future.
