Japan Reports 1,024 COVID-19 Cases... Highest in 76 Days

According to NHK's tally, as of 6:20 PM on the 5th, 1,024 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed across Japan. This is the first time since August 21, when 1,034 cases were recorded, that Japan's daily COVID-19 cases have surpassed 1,000.
As a result, the cumulative number of COVID-19 cases in Japan has increased to 105,770.
Looking at recent daily confirmed cases in Japan, there were 876 on the 31st of last month, 614 on the 1st of this month, 488 on the 2nd, 866 on the 3rd, and 624 the day before.
On this day, the number of new cases by region was highest in Tokyo with 269, followed by Osaka Prefecture with 125, Hokkaido with 119, and Kanagawa Prefecture with 109.

The number of deaths among confirmed COVID-19 cases in Japan increased by 4, reaching 1,816.
