At the executive committee meeting held at the National Assembly that day, Kim said, "It has already been two months since Lee Nak-yeon, leader of the Democratic Party, urged the prompt enactment of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act in his National Assembly speech. However, the Democratic Party has yet to present the bill," and added, "In the meantime, more than a hundred workers have collapsed due to industrial accidents and overwork deaths."
Kim emphasized, "This law concerns life. From a corporate perspective, this issue may be just an inconvenience, but for workers, it is a matter of life," and stressed, "In such circumstances, we must firmly stand on the side of protecting life."

Kang Eun-mi, floor leader of the Justice Party, said, "We must stop the ongoing procession of deaths. The lives and safety of the people must be prioritized. Please pass the Serious Accidents Punishment Act immediately," adding, "The current level of amendments to the existing Occupational Safety and Health Act being discussed by the government and the Democratic Party cannot stop this procession of deaths. We demand an end to the clear corporate acts of murder. We make it clear that any further silence and neglect makes one an accomplice to these deaths."
