Bezos Sells Amazon Shares Worth 3 Trillion Won... Sold $10.2 Billion This Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon, sold more than $3 billion (approximately 3.3951 trillion KRW) worth of Amazon shares this week, Bloomberg reported on the 4th (local time).
According to the report, CEO Bezos sold 1 million Amazon shares on the 2nd and 3rd alone to raise funds. Previously, he sold $4.1 billion and $3.1 billion worth of Amazon shares in February and August, respectively. As a result, the total funds raised from selling Amazon shares this year exceed $10.2 billion.
Last year, CEO Bezos sold Amazon shares worth $2.8 billion. Considering this, the amount raised through sales this year is more than three times that. Despite the consecutive sales, CEO Bezos still holds about 53 million Amazon shares worth $170 billion.
According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, CEO Bezos's net worth is estimated at $191 billion. With Amazon's stock price rising, his wealth increased by $10.5 billion in a single day.
