[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province announced on the 5th that the 7th round of the largest domestic one-make race hosted by Hyundai Motor Company, the ‘Hyundai N Festival,’ will be held for two days starting from the 7th at the Yeongam International Circuit.
The ‘Hyundai N Festival’ is a competition designed to lower the entry barriers for ordinary people to participate in racing by using mass-produced cars with low prices, minimal tuning, and affordable maintenance costs.
The race features the same car model, so the ranking is determined by the driver’s skill rather than the vehicle’s tuning technology.
The race consists of two car models released under Hyundai’s high-performance brand ‘N Line’: the ‘Veloster N’ and the ‘Avante,’ and is divided into sprint and time trial formats depending on the race operation method.
The sprint format ranks drivers based on the fastest time to complete 14 laps on the permanent track (3.04 km) of the International Circuit.
The time trial format awards points based on the fastest lap time within 20 minutes, and the final ranking is determined by the cumulative points over four rounds.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19, entry is restricted to pre-registered personnel only, and a quarantine system including mask-wearing and temperature checks upon entering the circuit is in place.
Due to the no-audience operation, the race progress can be watched live through online channels such as YouTube, Facebook, and Naver TV.
